Lance’s Mac…prt 1430210

So…I’m sitting here next to my friend Twila, who knows more about PCs than any 50 year old man out there (she’s actually 79…ouch! she just punched me). We were talking about Apples and oranges, but really we were talking about Macs.

I feel like I’ve been working on Lance’s Mac everyday this week, and I think Lance feels that way also! There have been a few set backs, but for the most part it’s an awesome learning experience for me and it’s been fun.

Parallels was quite the trip! We are running Windows XP and Mac OS x all at the same time, with the punch of two keys on the keyboard Lance can flip between Operating Systems!

The one major set back has been Leopard…for some reason Leopard is doing to Mac what Vista did to Microsoft…

So let me just say if you are wanting to upgrade your Mac or getting a new one and you have to deal with older software or whatever see if you can get Tiger until they work out the kinks, cause this is starting to bug me!

Granted that’s how I felt about Vista when it first came out, but I’ve had Vista Ultimate installed on my home computer since August and I haven’t ran into any major issues. Though I also have Office 2007 and all the programs that I have in there were made after Vista came out. The one problem I see Vista still working out is getting a good 5.1 driver for Coax/Optical Sound cards…

Well I’m off to play some rock band…see ya later and keep rocking…

that was lame…I know.

  1. Did you install the 10.5.2 update? It fixed a lot of issues for me…

    Ya…at least I think I did…we’ll see =)

One thing that we noticed is you can’t install stuff from original disk unless you have the original ram in…

  3. That doesn’t sound quite right…what do you mean by “original disk”?

The install discs the Mac came with. Leopard doesn’t install the extra loops for Garage Band, Lance needed them so we had to use those discs, and I read on apple’s support somewhere that might have to put in the original ram (we had bought 3rd party upgrade).
